Service Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY: Completion of inspections, warranty repairs, product part replacements, and lockout procedures on window and door systems in a fast-paced residential construction market. Provide customer service in regards to product warranty, product repair and replacement work on a daily basis.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
Good verbal and written communication skills
Basic math and measuring skills
Customer service oriented
Mechanical aptitude
Glass industry or glazing experience preferred
Able to work independently or in a team environment
Knowledge of window and door installation and repairs preferred
Punctual, reliable and self-motivated
Able to work on a ladder
Able to work flexible hours according to workload
Able to work outdoors in inclement weather when required
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work and communicate in a professional team environment
Provide customer’s with general product inquiries and warranty information as required
Follow all company and departmental policies
Exercise safe, efficient and professional work habits (attached general safety rules)
Document all work performed and order replacement parts where necessary
Operate company vehicle in a safe manner in and around the city and inform supervisor of any vehicle repairs needed as required
Complete sealed unit replacements in the field including replacement of caulking and glazing stops
Report problems which interfere with completion of work orders to supervisor
Able to lift up to approximately 70lbs and work at heights up to 20-30 feet where required
Able to deal with unexpected issues in the field that may arise from time to time
Perform inspections, warranty repairs, part replacements, installation of screens, and adjustments on various window and door systems including skylights and acrylic block units
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES CONT’D:
Maintain service vehicle parts inventory and update on a daily basis including weekly vehicle inspection reports in regards to maintenance
Meet departmental goals on a weekly basis
Write non-conformance reports whenever required on a regular basis
AUTHORITY:
Maintain company vehicle on a regular basis and take vehicle in for oil changes at regular intervals.
Make decisions based on site inspections as to appropriate action required, and whether work is warranty or chargeable.Closing Date: 8/28/2010
