DESIGN FEATURES

FRAME:

  • Manufactured from select kiln-dried, preservative treated, finger-jointed, western pine lumber.
  • Finger-jointed main frame allows for straighter, truer frames and significantly better long-term performance.
  • Clear jamb option (no finger-joints) is available on outswing atrium frames so that woodwork exposed to the interior can be stained to match windows and casing.
  • Inswing doors are available with an unprimed finger-joint interior, if staining is desired.

Door Panels:

  • 4 1/2" wide stiles and top rail, 7 1/4 " bottom rail are laminated with select pine over an engineered composite wood core. Panels are 1 3/4" thick with corners that are doweled, glued and fastened.

CLAD PANEL:

  • Exterior panel is clad with 0.067" thick aluminum with lap-joints at the stile & rail joint.

HINGES:

  • Heavy-duty two-way adjustable hinges are standard. Available in Satin Chrome and Polished Brass.

Glazing:

  • Standard 4mm tempered glass provides additional security against forced entry.
  • Optional SOL-R® Shield Glazing to provide maximum energy efficiency in all climates.
SCREENS:
  • Inswing Style: Heavy-duty screens painted to match exterior panel.
  • Outswing Style: Heavy-duty brown screen slides to the interior
  • Atrium Style: A reinforced gold tone or white screen is attached behind the venting panel.
WEATHERSTRIPPING:
  • Doors feature a slab mounted sill sweep with heavy duty seal weatherstripping on the head and jambs. Seals can be easily replaced if damaged or for future maintenance.
SILL:
  • Our two-part adjustable sill provides adjustment for additional weather protection.

DECORATIVE HARDWARE OPTIONS

MULTI-POINT REACHOUT HARDWARE OPTION
Multi-point door hardware and decorative handle sets increase security, weather tightness and the appearance of the door.
Lever controlled handle set engages and releases the 1" steel horns, deadbolt and latch.

The locking mechanism incorporates standard locking cylinder to ensure a variety of keyway systems can be used.
 

 

IN-GLASS GRILL OPTIONS
Customize your home by selecting from a variety of grill colors.

In-glass grills available in:

5/16” grill bar: White, Beige, Grey, Black

5/8” grill bar: White, Beige, Hunter Green, Redwood, Brown, Black

1” grill bar: White and Beige
* All 1" grills are non-intersecting grills. They are able to make a "T", but they are not allowed to cross.
SDL - 1" SIMULATED DIVIDED LITE OPTION

Gienow’s SDL offers a traditional look without sacrificing energy efficiency. Metal clad bars are adhered to the exterior surface of the sealed unit and wood bars to the interior. Available in 9 designer colors, and with an optional shadow bar between the glass.
SML - 2" SIMULATED DIVIDED LITE OPTION

Gienow’s 2" Simulated Mullion bar creates a bold appearance of 2 separate windows. Available in 9 designer colors, and with an optional shadow bar between the glass. SML’s can be used on their own or in combination with 1" SDL bars.

SOL-R® Energy Saving Glass contains a nearly invisible

Sol-R® Gain 178

SOL-R® Gain glass allows some of the sun’s radiant heat energy to enter the home to provide passive (and free) home heating while at the same time reducing the heat that escapes from the home.

Preserve™
Spattered paint isn’t the only problem. There’s excess stucco. Slopped mud. Scratched glass. By the time construction is over, the windows are a mess. But if your windows are covered with Preserve™, cleanup is a snap.

Preserve is a clear, removable protective film that we apply on both the inside and outside of insulating glass (IG) units, including those made with our new Loå3-366 (low-e cubed) high-performance glass. So when the job is over, builders simply peel off Preserve and throw it away – along with all the grime, even the labels.
